Nelson quarter horses are ranch born, raised and trained, with no special treatment. They demonstrate strong minds and sound bodies and have been proven in many different diciplines. We use our horses on the ranch to work our cattle all year round. Nelson horses are bred to be "Cowey". They are exposed to many different situations, terrains and most importantly, different jobs. Don and Sheila Nelson work with their horses enough to know the qualities the horse has to offer and find ways to bring out the best in the horse, thus making a good all around ranch horse.
